This picture was taken during a unique, magical weekend in an almost cut-off Glen Etive the first weekend of that first incredible winter of – when was it? 2009-10? There was an extraordinary amount of snow; red deer had come down from the high mountains to shelter; the rivers and loch were frozen solid. It was like Narnia; the sun on fresh, deep snow created an effect like cottage cheese.
